Why I became an PT:
Life is short, might as well have fun! Pediatric PT is continual fun for me! I have a passion for “transforming society by optimizing movement to improve the human experience” (APTA’s vision statement). A child’s job is to play and if I can help facilitate more socializing, exploration, interaction with their environment, it’s a true blessing. Providing assistance to have a child walk or having them tell me they weren’t the last in PE class, are only two of the many examples of why I love working in Pediatric PT. One of my favorite parent quotes is, “You’ve turned my child into a little rascal and we can’t be happier!”
More about me:
I love being active! I am runner, I play Australian Rules Football, and have competed in soccer and dance. I love challenging myself and my patients to their full physical potential! I was born and raised in San Jose, CA and am still trying to get used to the winters.
Special training, certification, and interests:
Pediatric Manual Therapy, barefoot shoes, research, exploration of the Pediatric PT career
I serve as the Student Chair and am the co-founder of the Academy of Pediatric PT Student/New Professional Subcommittee for the American Physical Therapy Association.
I will speak and have spoken at the Minnesota Physical Therapy Association (MNPTA) Spring conference (2016 and 2017).
