Meet Our Team

Sarah Zinkel, MS, OTR/L

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology with a child and youth care emphasis, and a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy. My practice areas of interest include Social-Emotional and sensory processing. I have a lot of experience working with children who have anxiety. Executive functioning skills and higher level social skills are also an interest to me, as I have a lot of games that work on deductive reasoning, trial and error learning, sequencing, and frustration tolerance. I enjoy creative problem solving, so the variety our profession brings is one of my favorite parts of being an OT.

More about me!
I love games, puzzles, trivia, traveling, theater, and hanging out with friends. I have multiple odd talents including solving the Rubik's cube, making balloon animals, and making animal noises. I enjoy people and am always up for a new experience. Peanut butter is one of my favorite foods.

Why I became an OT:
I have wanted to become an Occupational Therapist since 8th grade. It encompasses multiple passions of mine including: psychology, anatomy and physiology, creative problem solving, and play! I truly feel that I was made to be an OT.

My extraordinary therapy moment:
Oh, there are so many extraordinary movements over the course of my career. Some of my favorite moments occurred during Kids on Stage!!! Theater, which was an adaptive theater program I co-developed and ran with a friend of mine. Seeing a 7-year-old with Autism shine on stage as Dorothy in our version of the Wizard of Oz, was life-giving. She knew all of her lines (and everyone else's). Her parents were so proud and beaming watching her on stage. Those were great moments!
